Our university's first overseas campus in the history was officially activated at 14: 30, July 12th, 2016 on Beijing time (12: 30, July 12th, 2016 on Kazakhstan time). The overseas campus, named as Hubei University of Technology – Almaty Campus, was established in Almaty State University, Kazakhstan.

The establishing ceremony was jointly hosted by Prof. S. K. Shildebay, the president of Almaty State University, and Prof. Liezhou Yan, our university's Party Standing Committee and principal assistant. Some representatives from both Almaty State University and Hubei Univrsity of Technology witnessed the memorable historical moment together.

After the bilateral talks and preparation for nearly one year, our university's delegation visited Almaty State University, Kazakhstan from July 10th, 2016 to July 14th, 2016. The delegation consisted of 5 people. The delegation leader was Prof. Liezhou Yan, our university's Party Standing Committee and principal assistant. Other members were staff from the Department of International Relations, the School of International Education, the School of Computer Science, etc. 

On behalf of university, they signed the joint education agreement with Almaty State University. And then the establishing ceremony for Hubei University of Technology – Almaty Campus was held.

Establishing the overseas campus is one of the important developing strategies for the internationalized development of our university. It is a significant breakthrough in the field of Sino-foreign joint education for our university in the history, marking the establishment for our university's open school-running pattern of all-around, multi-level, and 3-dimensional style. This reflects the actual strength and standard of our university's international education.
