"The 13th Global University Network (N.E.W.S) Conference and 2016 Wuhan Forum of World Scientists Lecturing in Hubei" finished all the agenda and came to a successful conclusion on 19th October.
In the morning, revolving around the conference theme, attending representatives from Anglia Ruskin University, Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (English: Autonomous University of Lisbon), Vysoká škola báňská – Technická univerzita Ostrava (English: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava), etc. took a deep dive into the practical modes and innovative development ideas of "University-Industry Cooperation from the Perspective of Globalization and Internet+". In the afternoon, the following enterprise leaders introduced their enterprises and the course of their development under the background of the conference theme: Mr. Li Xuecheng, Director of the Department of Education System in China in Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.; Mr. Huang Lei, Chief Executive of Weidao. Com (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.; Mr. Stephan Osann, Founder of Osann GmbH; Mr. YU Guoping, General Manager of Taiwan Trekintal Chemical Product & Equipment (Kunshan) Co., Ltd.; Mr. Zhu Dunyao, Chairman of the Board of Wuhan KOTEI Informatics Co., Ltd.; Ms. Lou Qiyun, Human Resources Manager of MINTH GROUP; etc.
With the chance, nearly 20 domestic and overseas universities signed the Memorandum of Understanding, and more than 10 domestic and overseas enterprises and universities achieved initial intent of cooperation during the conference.
Prof. Sung-Jo Park, the professor from Free University of Berlin and a charter member of the Global University Network, spoke highly of participating speakers' brilliant reports and lectures. He also gave remarks on the elaborate organization and well-planned arrangement of this year's conference committee, and expressed his deepest gratitude for all the staff and volunteers' hospitable services and selfless dedication in the closing ceremony. On Prof. Park's proposal, the Global University Network added the "Special Contribution Award" to thank the individual that had made outstanding contributions to successfully hosting the conference. And being recommended by the current attendees, Prof. Liu Defu, our president and the chairman of the coference, was granted the "Special Contribution Award" in "The 13th Global University Network (N.E.W.S) Conference". The Award Ceremony was held at the scene.
In the conference, China Three Gorges University was chosen to be the host of the 14th Global Universities Network (N.E.W.S.) Conference. The Flag Handover Ceremony took place at the scene between Hubei University of Technology and China Three Gorges University. As the host of the next N.E.W.S. Conference, Prof. Huang Yingping, the vice president from China Three Gorges University gave a warm welcome speech. Then Prof. Liu defu, our president and the chairman of the conference, made the closing speech.
