On February 2nd, 2017, the curtain descended on the Czechoslavakia Division Finals of Chartered Financial Analyst Institute Research Challenge (hereafter referred to as 'CFA Institute Research Challenge'). There were 10 teams taking part in the Research Challenge, which were from well-known universities in Czech, such as Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava (hereafter referred to as 'VŠB'), University of New York in Prague, etc. Among them, the VŠB's representative team, consisting of 4 Chinese students from our Sino-Czech cooperative program between our university (Hubei University of Technology) and VŠB, did well in the finals that won the fourth place in the group after fierce battles. 

The four members of the the VŠB's representative team were listed as follows: Weiyi SUN (the team leader), Xiaoshan FENG, Yuling LI, and Huanyu LI. They were all from the Class of 2013 in the Sino-Czech cooperative program of our university. Their performance during this several- month competition was highly recognized by the judges. The team not only won honor for VŠB, but also chalked up a record that it was the first time that HBUT students attended the CFA Institute Research Challenge.

After the finals, the Research Challenge judges and guests reviewed the performances of each team. The VŠB's representative team obtained the widespread high praise from the guests and other participating universities. The contestants expressed that they expanded their knowledge, broadened their views and learned a lot which beyond their books by taking part in the Research Challenge. They would sum up the experience of the Research Challenge and pass them on to their junior university brothers and sisters, paving the way for them to win honour and glory in the next Research Challenge.
