Professor Marcian Cirste Offered Lectures at HBUT
Sponsored by “World-Famous Scientists Lecturing in Hubei Province” Program of Hubei Provincial Department of Education and invited by Hubei University of Technology, Marcian Cirste, Dean of School of Calculation and Technology, with his wife visited HBUT for lecturing and cooperation discussion from April 7 to April 10. Vice President Li Dongsheng, and Leaders of Department of International Relations, School of International Education, and School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering participated in the reception and discussion.
Both parties discussed the implementation plan for Dual Bachelor Degree Program in Electronic Information Engineering, and finalized the issues such as the time schedule for faculty from Anglia Ruskin University teaching at HBUT, mutual faculty exchange, laboratory construction, etc. What’s more, both institutions reached a consensus on introducing eminent scholars to HBUT.
On the morning of April 8 and the evening of April 9, Professor gave two lectures respectively in the Academic Lecture Hall of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Boxue Lecture Hall of Student Activity Center. He gave an introduction to the School of Calculation and Technology of Anglia Ruskin University and its latest academic achievements, the core courses offering, department structure and research project of Electronic Information Engineering. In the Q & A session, Professor Cirstea answered students’ questions about studying abroad. At the end of the lecture, Professor Cirstea played a magic trick, which elicited applause.
During the stay at HBUT, Professor Cirstea and the other delegates from Anglia Ruskin University visited the Student Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Solar Energy Research Center, Speech Intelligent Noise Reduction Product R&D Center, Electrical and Electronic Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center. The roomy laboratories and advanced equipments, especially the wonderful performance of the Electric Blue Smart Car which won the first prize of National Freescale’s Smart Car Race deeply impressed Professor Cirstea.
Besides, Professor Marcian Cirstea and Professor Silvia Cristea offered the course “An Introduction to Electronics” to the Sino-British Articulation Program students. Professor Silvia Cristea made an introduction to the development of Electronics, and instructed students to write papers, and make group discussion and speech. Even on the class, Professor Silvia Cristea gave students a topic and asked them to discuss in groups and make a speech.
Professor Cirstea’s visit not only promotes the academic exchange between Hubei provincial universities and the prestige universities abroad, but also facilitates the connection between HBUT faculty and students and world famous scientists, and allows them to know the advanced scientific research level and technology in the world. What’s more, it also accelerates the international exchange and cooperation of Hubei provincial higher education institutions. This “World-Famous Scientists Lecturing in Hubei Province” achieved a great success.
Introduction to Professor M. Cirstea:
Professor M. Cirstea is an expert in the field of Digital Control of Power Electronics. With the academic experience of 23 years, Professor M. Cirstea has published 1 monograph, 1 textbook and over 130 academic papers. He has edited 6 international textbooks on FPGA. Being the founder of IEEE “Electronic System on Chip” Technical Committee and the subeditor of IEEE Journal, he has also acted as the Chairman of IEEE Conference for 5 times.
