On the morning of November 11th, 2016, Prof. Luigi Bracchi, the president of LABA - Libera Accademia di Belle Arti in Brescia, Italy, visited our university to negotiate the cooperation programs for Art undergraduates and postgraduate. The meeting for the cooperation programs was held in the Meeting Room on the fourth floor in the Administration Building. The meeting was hosted by Ms. Long Yan, the director of the Department of International Relations. Our vice president, Prof. Zhang Yingjiang attended the meeting and gave a welcome speech. The following leaders also attended the meeting: Prof. Wang Tao, the assistant dean of the School of Art and Design; Prof. Deng Weibin, the assistant dean of the School of Industry Design; the leaders of the Italian Education Center; etc.
Two parties respectively introduced their universities' basic situation, school-running characteristics, and advantages. They then had an in-depth discussion about cooperation on the Sino-Italian bachelor degree program and master degree program in the field of Art and Design. In the end, two parties decided to carry out the Sino-Italian bachelor degree program and master degree program in the following two majors: Visual Communication Design, and Industrial Design. During the meeting, two parties reached an agreement on the following details: program models, language requirements, tuition standards, graduation requirements, etc. Two parties would discuss to draw up the joint cultivation plans for the programs later.
Our vice president, Prof. Zhang Yingjiang, on behalf of our university, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Prof. Luigi Bracchi between Libera Accademia di Belle Arti-LABA and Hubei University of Technology. After the meeting, companied by Prof. Zhang Yingjiang, Prof. Luigi Bracchi visited the Liufang Pavilion and the Ceramic Art Studio in our School of Art and Design. Prof. Luigi Bracchi expressed his high appreciation on disciplines' academic level and students' design works of our School of Art and Design.
As the art center during the Renaissance, Italy is always walking in the forefront of the world in Art and Design. Its profound cultural accumulation and the dazzling famous artists and masterpieces have laid the status of Italy as the art center in Europe. Libera Accademia di Belle Arti-LABA, Italy, as our university's first international partner among Italian Art colleges and universities, will start our university's communication and cooperation with Italy in the field of Art and Design.

Libera Accademia di Belle Arti-LABA (hereinafter referred to as LABA) is a Private Art Academy authenticated by the Italian Ministry of Education, which can award bachelor degree and master degree. There are 20 public art academies and 20 private ones in Italy. LABA ranked the first among the 20 private art academies, being the biggest private higher academy of arts in Italy.
The headquarter of LABA is located in Brescia, a northern city in Italy, which is about 80 miles away from Milan; at the same, there are three branch campuses in Firenze (English: Florence), Rimini and Torbole; currently, there are more than 2300 students from different countries and regions all over the world studying here. The academy has joined the Erasmus student exchange program of the European Union, having communication and cooperation with many higher education colleges and universities in Europe; in the meanwhile, LABA had joined the "Turandot plan" with other art academies to encourage Chinese students to accept the higher education of art in Italy.
